China Textile Industry Association Officially Joined ITFM

It is reported that ITMF, founded in 1904, is one of the international non-governmental organizations with the longest history in the world textile industry. After more than a hundred years of development, ITMF has become an important organization representing the major textile producing countries in the world. Its members cover the upstream, midstream and downstream industrial chains of the textile industry. Among them, the ITMF Annual Conference is an important platform for the exchange and communication of textile industries around the world. ??

It is understood that at the Zurich meeting on April 17 this year, the ITMF Management Committee passed the proposal that "China Textile Industry Association becomes the only national representative of China's textile industry, and it is necessary to properly address the new status of Taiwan Textile Development Association in ITMF". The proposal determines that the Taiwan Textile Development Association will change from a member to an associate member. In any ITMF activity occasions and documents, the name of Taiwan should be "Chinese Taipei" or "Taiwan, China". ??

On the day when the proposal was passed, China Textile Industry Association formally applied to join the ITMF, which was immediately approved by the ITMF Management Committee. Since then, China Textile Industry Association has become the only national representative of China's textile industry in ITMF, and has the voting right of the management committee. ??

During the meeting, Walter Simeone said that after long-term consultations, China's formal accession to ITMF is a matter of "mutual benefit" and hopes that China's accession will promote exchanges between new and old members of ITMF. Du Yuzhou said that China is the largest country in textile production, consumption and export in the world, with fiber processing volume accounting for about 40% of the world's total, playing a very important role in the world textile industry. Now, China Textile Industry Association has officially joined the International Textile Manufacturers Federation, which, on the one hand, makes the international organization more representative and authoritative in the global textile industry; On the other hand, it is more conducive to mutual cooperation between China's textile industry and its counterparts from all over the world. ??

Industry insiders pointed out that at present, China, as the world's largest textile production, consumption and export country, plays an important role in the world textile industry. After China Textile Industry Association becomes a legal member of ITMF, it will undoubtedly highlight the representative and authoritative role of this international organization in the global textile industry. ??

It is also reported that Simeon announced the above information at the China International Textile Machinery Exhibition held here. This Asia's largest professional textile machinery exhibition was held in Shanghai New International Expo Center from July 27 to 31. Nearly 1400 enterprises from more than 30 countries and regions participated in the exhibition, with an exhibition area of 126500 square meters.
