    First Successful Breeding Of Pure Australian Super Fine Sheep In Xinjiang

    In June 7th, experts from China Agricultural University and Xinjiang Academy of animal husbandry extracted eggs from 4 pure super fine lambs, which means that the first time we adopted the technology of superovulation of young animals to scale and breed pure Australian super fine sheep successfully.


    Superovulation Technology is the most advanced biotechnology in the global herbivore breeding technology.

    It is to carry out ovulation of 4-8 week old female lambs, and then use tube fertilization technology to pplant into the ewe until pregnancy.

    Before the technology was used, the adult ewes for more than 18 months had the ability to reproduce, but now the time is shortened to 7 months, and the reproductive efficiency is 3-5 times higher than that of adult sheep.


    Gou Kemian, a doctoral tutor of the State Key Laboratory of agricultural biotechnology, China Agricultural University, said: "the gap between the two generations is greatly shortened, and 7 months in total, the two generations can eat grass in a slot."


    At present, Xinjiang Tian Chuan Huafeng Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has the largest 800 pure breeds of Australian super fine sheep in Xinjiang. The fineness of wool is generally 18--19 micron, and the fine wool sheep produced by the new technology breed at 16--18 micron, and the fineness and quality of wool are better. It also provides conditions for the industrialization development of fine wool sheep in our district.
