Minutes Of Meeting Of China Cotton Spinning Association "National Slurry And Sizing Technology 2008 Meeting"

The "national slurry and Sizing Technology 2008 meeting", sponsored by China Cotton Textile Industry Association, was held in Luoyang, Henan Province on May 26, 2008 -28. The conference was co sponsored by Henan Textile Industry Association and Luoyang Changlong Chemical Co., Ltd.

More than 300 representatives from various provinces and cities of the country attended the meeting. Before the meeting, a silent tribute was made for the compatriots who died in the Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan.

At the opening ceremony, Xu Wenying, vice president of China Textile Industry Association, President of China Cotton Textile Industry Association, Li Shuqin, President of Henan Textile Industry Association, mayor Guo Hongchang of Luoyang, Chen Haiqin, vice mayor of Luoyang, Xing Huilu, vice chairman and Secretary General of dyeing and Printing Association, and other leaders.

Facing the current difficulties, we should adhere to scientific development and pform the mode of economic development, and put forward requirements from four aspects: first, we should continue to promote technology and brand work, adjust product mix and improve average yarn; two, we must continue to firmly promote technological pformation and support the promotion of the use of new and efficient cotton spinning process equipment; three, we need to encourage the use of differential fiber, functional fiber, composite yarn and new fabrics; and four, we need to promote energy conservation and emission reduction without PVA sizing and developing environment-friendly slurry. President Xu Wenying did it at the opening ceremony.

Finally, president Xu emphasized: for the production characteristics of cotton textile industry, the key point of energy saving should be energy saving. The key point of reducing emissions is dyed weaving. The dyeing and finishing wastewater of cowboy and warp sizing reduce the COD and biodegradability of desizing waste liquid.

Therefore, we should speed up the pace of "do not use PVA" with "less use of PVA" and use more environment-friendly slurry so as to coordinate the economic development and environmental protection, and play a greater role in reducing the discharge of printing and dyeing desizing wastewater.

Vice President Xing Huilu also made a statement at the opening ceremony, analyzed the situation of the printing and dyeing industry, pointed out that the emission reduction must be controlled from the source, and the importance of PVA sizing to the treatment of printing and dyeing desizing wastewater was not necessary.

For example, the causes and influencing factors of the pulp falling off, the concept of grafted starch and starch denaturation, the effects of a variety of modified starch and the problems that should be paid attention to, the problems that should be paid attention to in the sizing process of commonly used slurry (modified starch, acrylic acid and wax), the principle of a suitable sizing agent for pure cotton and polyester cotton products, and how to treat the properties of the modified starch slurry and the reasons for thickening of PVA and acrylic size in use, and how to deal with the concepts of BOD and COD and their ratios.
