This Year, The French Clothing Market Has Experienced "Spring Cold".
For the French clothing market and high-end garment enterprises, this spring is a bit cold. Data show that in March this year, sales of clothing in France dropped by nearly 10% over the same period last year, and sales in April were not optimistic.
According to France's "Le Figaro" 3, quoted by the French Fashion Institute statistics, in March this year, the French market to serve. Total sales decreased by 9.1% compared with the same period last year, with an estimated drop of 5% to 10% in April. In March, sales of all kinds of clothing decreased, of which women's clothing decreased by 17% compared to the same period last year, while men's clothing decreased by 11% compared with the same period last year.
Analysts believe that the main reason for the shrinkage of the clothing market is that the rise in prices has led to a decline in the purchasing power of residents. The shrinking of the clothing market is not unique to France. In March this year, the global sales of the famous clothing brand HM decreased by 8% compared with the same period last year, while GAP decreased by 12%, and CA dropped by 15%.
