Two Generation Zuo Ying: The Youngest Female Billionaire In China

Zuo Yingzong, the daughter of Zun Zongshen, an industrial group, was born in September 1982.

In September 2004, Zuo Ying, who was just 22 years old, became the chairman of Zong Shen high speed boat Development Co. Ltd. and became the actual controller of Zong Shen power of the listed company.

Zuo Ying is known as one of the youngest billionaires in China.

The story behind the story is probably due to the older generation's "love of calf" for the next generation. It is far harder than the first generation to interview the two generation of Chongqing merchants.

Moreover, reporters have long known that one of China's youngest billionaires, Zuo Ying, has hardly ever received media interviews.

In those days, including the Hongkong Phoenix Satellite TV and other media have proposed to interview Zuo Ying, but were Zuo Ying's father - Zong Shen industrial group boss Zun Zongshen declined.

This time, reporters got Zun Zongshen's contact with Zuo Ying, and finally interviewed Zuo Ying, who was studying at University of Miami.

Will one of China's youngest rich go back to Zun Zongshen's class?

This is a question that the media, industry and the public have been very concerned about but have never answered.

Through this interview, it seems that there is an answer: Zun Zongshen disclosed that he did not advocate Zuo Ying's return; while Zuo Ying hoped to invest in all parts of the world, and she wanted to make the Zong Shen group an international company.

Reporter: you have a very high reputation in China. The media say you are one of the youngest billionaires in China. Someone has helped you to figure out how much money you have.

We are very interested in your growth. Can you introduce your resume?

Zuo Ying: I am just a very ordinary Chongqing girl.

I had a very happy childhood in Wangjia dam in Banan district. I had a lot of playmates and I really missed the days when I ran around the streets.

I went to grade four in Tu Qiao primary school near my home, then pferred to Fang Qian, then I went to junior high school in foreign language school, and before I finished my first grade in high school, I went to France, where I studied French for a year.

Now I am studying at University of Miami, and I graduated in May.

Reporter: you started primary school when your father Zun Zongshen started his business. Do you have any special memories of your childhood and your father's business?

What is the most important education your parents give you?

Are there any special business awareness training?

Zuo Ying: the deepest influence is that when I was little, my parents were busy from morning till night.

I saw him work from an early age, I learned a lot from him, learned hard work, only then will have the harvest; must pay, only then can have the repayment.

My mother taught me how to behave.

My mother always says that she wants to do well before she learns to be good.

My grandfather died when I was three years old, but my mother often told me the story of how grandpa helped others.

For me, I recognize the importance of family education from my own perspective.

I am lucky to have such a parent, guiding my basic direction of life.

I grew up watching my parents doing business and learning more or less.

The most important thing I learned is credibility.

To do business, we must speak credibility, be practical and realistic.

Reporter: what is the greatest significance for you to study and live abroad?

Zuo Ying: going abroad is probably one of the luckiest things that happen to me. It makes me more mature, more independent and more responsible. The most important thing is to broaden my mind and let my brain absorb the different knowledge and culture like a sponge.

These are invaluable for me.

Reporter: do you have an ideal major in American universities?

Is it for the sake of the father's career that he gives up the work he wishes to do?

Zuo Ying: I am learning international finance and marketing, and I like my major very much, and it is also my ideal.

Reporter: does your father's fame and wealth affect your life and study in the United States?

Zuo Ying: I am just an ordinary student.

I like to make friends and become friends with many classmates before I realize that many students in the school are very experienced.

The daughter of Argentina's richest man is the nephew of the Venezuelan President.

I like the equality of everyone in the United States. The advantages of family can only bring limited glory. Only by being talented can we be proud of the shining point.

Reporter: do you have the same university life as ordinary college students?

I don't have two kinds of life in college and other students.

I have to admit that my family condition has given me a lot of advantages, making me invest in several real estate projects in Miami, making a lot of money and paying enough tuition fees.

This has helped me a lot in my work experience.

Reporter: China's reform and opening up for more than 20 years. Many people, including your father, have gone to sea to do business and tide over the sand. Only a few entrepreneurs have accumulated brilliant wealth. Of course, their generation of businessmen also have their own weaknesses.

Can you evaluate their generation of entrepreneurs from their own perspective?

Zuo Ying: I particularly respect and admire the previous generation of entrepreneurs. After reform and opening up, they are not afraid to try the spirit of struggle, so that they seize the right time to start a business, keep studying, learning and trying to make them become experts and successful entrepreneurs in all walks of life.

They have their own way of management, which is never learned in books.

Reporter: since you became the actual controller of Zong Shen power two years ago, the whole country is concerned about when you really pick up your father's class. When he talked to your father last week about your future development, he did not advocate your return, but hoped that you would have some pioneering in Zong Shen's internationalization.

Do you have your own plan?

Zuo Ying: my intention is that I want to start a business in the United States and not return home. My interest is not developed in one or two countries. I want to make Zong Shen a big international enterprise.

Motorcycles are only one aspect. I am more interested in international investment. I want to invest in all parts of the world, whether real estate or stock, so long as I have good business opportunities, I am interested.

This is the investment development without limitation.

Now I am in Miami, so I am helping to manage the Miami branch.

At the same time, I am also looking for investment opportunities in the US and South America.

I have quite a few friends who study at University of Miami. We often talk about their future. I find many different investment opportunities and stimulate my interest in the operation of assets.

Zun Zongshen: it is not for Zuo Ying to return to China to become one of the youngest billionaires in China. After that, he became a hot spot in the economic circles. Some media even speculated that Zun Zongshen wanted to hand in at more than 50 years old.

Zun Zongshen recently told our reporter about the arrangement of Zuo Ying for the first time recently.

Zun Zongshen said that after graduating in May this year, he will be arranged on the stage of international capital market such as New York stock exchange and Morgan Stanley. It will play an active role in the internationalization of Zong Shen, rather than simply returning home to manage motorcycle manufacturing plants.

Zun Zongshen said: "over the past 20 years since the reform and opening up, a number of private entrepreneurs have risen, but the platform for their entrepreneurship and development is very low. After second generations of entrepreneurs have studied abroad, some people advocate that they should return home after their studies, which I think is wrong.

The next generation will accept foreign culture and ideas, and do not understand the real problems of China. They must spend a lot of time to understand and the cost is very high.

After graduating from Zuo Ying, I want her to work at a higher level, combining the capital of the United States with the level of manufacturing in China.

Zun Zongshen said that after graduating in May this year, Zuo Ying will enter the New York stock exchange for internship, and then invest in Morgan Stanley's learning project.

Why did she give her 100 million yuan when she was 22 years old?

Zun Zongshen said: "at present, Zuo Ying has obtained a considerable share of the power of Zong Shen. My intention is to let her have the conditions to participate in international resources matching."

When Zun Zongshen talked about his successors, he said that Zong Shen's manufacturing industry in China was definitely not a family manager but a professional manager.

Zun Zongshen, while evaluating his daughter, said that Zuo Ying is still young and can not yet judge his investment and business talent. But Zuo Ying was very obedient and frugal and absorbed in his studies. He laid a good foundation for his future development.

I have seen you in the interview of Zong Shen several times. The last time was when Shapingba Zong Shen cultural clothing supplies shop opened.

It feels like you're very fashionable, and it's hard to relate to motorcycles, engines and manufacturing.

Can you tell me about your daily life, hobbies, attitudes and ideas?

Zuo Ying: Thank you for your compliment on my dress.

I like fashion and fashion design very much. This is just my interest, but I do not rule out that I will set up a clothing company in the future.

For me, there is no such thing as impossible!

Reporter: what interests the whole Chinese is that you have billions of dollars in assets. How do you know so much wealth?

Can you talk about how you spend money and how to manage your money?

Zuo Ying: I will do my best to work and make use of the assets I have owned to produce and invest. I want to upgrade Zong Shen into a world's largest international company.

To be honest, I don't like to spend money in disorder.

I will continue my father's career and continue to build schools in poverty-stricken areas of China. For me, education is very important, and culture can cure the root of poverty.
